Author Guidelines

Please read the guidelines below then upload your manuscript. Please note that manuscripts not conforming to these guidelines may be returned.

Only manuscripts of sufficient quality that meet the aims and scope of Journal of Language and Education will be reviewed.

There are no fees payable to submit or publish in this journal.

As part of the submission process you will be required to warrant that you are submitting your original work, that you have the rights in the work, that you are submitting the work for first publication in the Journal and that it is not being considered for publication elsewhere and has not already been published elsewhere, and that you have obtained and can supply all necessary permissions for the reproduction of any copyright works not owned by you.

Manuscript Submission Guidelines: 

1. Make sure your manuscript is the right fit for the journal by reviewing the journal information.
2. Review if the journal publishes the type of article that you wish to submit. Read the types of articles published.
3. You must be comfortable with publishing in an open access journal. Read our copyrights and licensing policy.
4. The entire manuscript must be neatly prepared, spell-checked, and adhere to the formatting requirements stipulated in our submission guidelines (see or Template). The Journal offers both blinded and open peer-review options for authors. For double-blinded peer review, authors must submit two separate files when uploading their manuscript: a manuscript file with no identifying author information (designate this file as the "Main Document") and a separate title page containing author details (designate this file as the "Title Page"). For open peer review, authors do not need to remove identifying information from the manuscript and can upload it as it is. Please ensure you select your preferred review type during the submission process.
5. Prepare a cover letter as required on the submissions guidelines. A cover letter should also be submitted as a separate document in the submissions section. Please note that the journal does not process manuscripts that are not accompanied by a cover letter. Ensure you include a cover letter during the submission process.
6. The Journal follows a rigorous editorial process to ensure the quality and relevance of published manuscripts. If the handling editor determines that a manuscript does not align with the journal's subject area or fails to meet the required quality and structural standards, the submission may be desk rejected. In such cases, authors will not receive a review or detailed explanation for the decision. This approach is taken to allow editors to efficiently manage their workload and focus resources on manuscripts that align closely with the journal’s aims and have the potential for successful publication. However, if the manuscript is sent for peer review and subsequently rejected, authors will receive a detailed explanation outlining the reasons for the rejection, based on reviewers' comments and the editor's assessment. This process ensures that submissions are treated fairly while maintaining the high academic standards of the journal.
