Изменения и влияние выступлений на конференциях (TED Talks) на уровень владения английским языком у аспирантов и страха говорения
Аннотация
В ходе данного исследования в течение 10 недель изучались изменения и воздействие выступлений TED Talks на успеваемость по английскому языку и страх говорения среди китайских аспирантов. Выступление на TED Talks использовалось в качестве способа обучения, чтобы обеспечить псевдо-реалистичную социокультурную среду, которая комфортна для говорения на английском языке. В псевдо-эксперименте приняли участие 166 студентов из экспериментальной группы, которые использовали в учебе TED Talks, и 156 студентов, которые обучались в обычном формате. Аспиранты выступили с 8-минутными устными презентациями и ответили на вопросы по 12-балльной шкале тревожности во время говорения на английском языке до и после эксперимента. Анализ полученных данных позволил сделать три главных вывода: 1) как экспериментальная, так и контрольная группы значительно улучшили показатели владения английским языком и стали заметно меньше бояться говорить на английском языке за 10-недельный период, 2) экспериментальная группа добилась значительно лучших результатов в организации переходов и было более заметно снижение волнения при говорении на английском языке, чем у контрольной группы по истечении 10 недель, и 3) режимы обучения оказали существенное влияние на построение переходов в устных презентациях студентов, но не оказали никакого эффекта на их показатели производительности в устных презентациях и тревожность при говорении на английском. Эти показатели подтверждают пользу дополнения программы преподавания и обучения АИЯ (английский как иностранный язык) с помощью выступлений TED Talks и другого подобного обучения в условиях виртуальной реальности. Таким образом, данное исследование не только вносит вклад в нынешнюю научную литературу, в которой не хватает изучения влияния технологий на преподавание и обучение второму/иностранному языку и динамических особенностей эмоций, связанных с обучением второму/иностранному языку, но также предполагает, что виртуальное обучение, как, например, использование TED Talks, должно быть включено в преподавание и второму/иностранному языку.
